Final consumption by energy (EU)
- Increasing share for electricity (from 20% in 2000 to 22% in 2018) and renewable (from 4% to 9%).
- Decreasing share for gas (from 24% in 2000 to 22% in 2018), for oil (from 41% to 36%) and for coal (5.7% to 4%).
- Stable share for heat (4.2% in 2000, 4.4% in 2018).
Fuel mix in the EU
Oil is the main energy consumed in the EU by final consumers, except in The Netherlands, Hungary and Slovakia (main energy is gas), Finland, Sweden and Norway (main energy is electricity)
