Energy intensity of service sector in EU
- Decreasing energy intensity at EU level since 2010 (-2.5%/year) after a slight increase (+0.7%/year) until 2010, but varying trends among Member States.
- Increasing energy intensity in 5 countries between 2000 and 2023, especially in Romania and Cyprus, where it rose by over 1% per year. While energy intensity has declined across all Member States since 2010, it continued to increase until 2019 in Luxembourg, Greece, Bulgaria, and Croatia, before decreasing significantly after 2019 at a rate exceeding 3% per year.
